Exhibition Model
These are the differnet images of my model at different angles.
Anselm Kiefer is an artist closely linked with my final piece in the fact that he makes massive books, but his are made out of lead and mine is being made out of something different, the reason this artist is linked with my work as well is that he uses sunflowers in his work as well, but his are real flowers that have died whereas mine is photographs of the stages of the sunflower.
Thinking about the way his book piece is displayed it made me think about how my book should be shown in my exhibition, I was thinking about it being like a normal book in the sense that you start at the beginning and you get to the end. But thinking harder about what my book is showing, I could have my book on a loop, the books pages will still be able to be moved but, you can get to the end and then start again because of the it being the life cycle of a sunflower.
But if I was to make the book on a loop the main frame would not be very strong unlike Anselm’s book his pages don’t move mine do so that would make it more of a hazard to people looking through the exhibition.
Thinking about the layout of my exhibition I looked at the way in which my exhibition would work and I decided that it need some sort of one way system so that everything flowed easily and everyone could see everything.
There is an artist who does these huge metal shaped sculptures that can look like mazes, but what I wanted to achieve is a one-way system so that people will be able to see all of the work without missing anything.
