My Proposal

For my final idea I have looked at doing double exposures, with animals and their habitats, as well using photo manipulation program; Photoshop: to change the appearance of a persons face so that it would look as if their face was being sucked in their electronic device, for example: phone, tablet, computer and various other devices used by people everyday. I then went on to look at a variety of different artists that I found linked with the work and final ideas I wanted to achieve, the artists have varied in the way of double exposures, photo manipulation, illustration. They have been my inspiration towards my final ideas, but after thinking about what I want to achieve at the end, I decided to change my idea for my final piece all together, and go for something that is my surroundings back in my own town and a place that is personal to me.

The techniques that I have explored in my chosen path way is taking pictures of bubbles, this was to create a reflection in the bubble and it would show the surroundings wherever it was located. Another technique that I explored was cake photography; this was to show the audience as the surroundings as people viewing the products and which leads on to those people buying the cakes. As well as those two different techniques I also did a panoramic, incorporating a sequence of images taken in a 360 degrees and then all of those images put together to create one big long photograph. This to show my surroundings at the time, also what I could see when I turned in a 360 degrees motion clockwise. This was inspired by David hockey where he puts a mixture of photos of one place and takes them at different angles to show different perspectives and messing with the mind. My panoramic was similar to his but mine was put together the best I could so that there was no gaps or bits missed, whereas David Hockney has done his on purpose.

My proposal for my final idea is to show a massive amount of photos taken by me of my family owned coffee shop, and in a way show a sort of life in the day of the shop, showing the happening from beginning to end, as well as all of what happens in the middle, I am hoping to show that my families shop is different to your big chain coffee shops; Starbucks, Costa, and show that there is more to a coffee shop than just WI-FI and technology. And that you can see through the eyes of me what happens on an average day in the shop. My parents add something special to the shop in the way of socialising through face to face not through calling, texting and social media. My idea is to show the preparation of food, and the communication between staff and customers.

For the last two weeks I will be taking my photos and finishing everything off.
