Artist Research: Anselm Kiefer
Anselm Kiefer is a German painter and sculptor, he uses a range of mediums to create his work, this consists of straws, lead, ash and many other materials. He has worked and exhibited all over the world, in places like New York, Paris, London and many other amazing places. He is also the first artist to have a permanent piece commissioned within the Louvre in Paris.
The elements of his work that I like is his scale in which he makes his work it catches your eye, there is a lot of detail as well which I like also. The only thing that I don’t like about his work is the colour he uses, they are not very bright and eye catching, that is just my opinion on it, and the composition of his work is very precise. The colour of his work is very bland and dull; he uses greys, browns and yellows
No editing was done to his work as it was mostly of it is sculpture and painting, his work impacts the viewer because of the scale of his work and the composition of the way his work is presented.
The form of Anselm’s work is that he paints parts of a room precisely using dull colours, the function of his work that it can be put in to exhibitions as well as scale.
