Artist Research: Paul Chong

Paul Chong, a fine art photographer located in Shanghai. His work has been used in various places, which includes magazines, brochures websites, as well as in museums; furthermore he has put his work into his own online gallery. His area of strength in photography is macro and especially landscapes. The part of his work that intrigue me are the way he has captures his images by focusing on a part of a flower, or putting the subject he is tokening a picture of and changing where it is when he looks through the camera.

There is nothing I don’t like about his work, his photographs are amazing and they are well thought as to how the picture is going to be taken and what is in the image what isn’t, the colours of his work when he captures them are crisp, clean and vibrant, catching someone’s eye of the saw it. This photographer has possibly used a bit of Photoshop or something similar to brighten and change the contrast of the image to make it stand out more to the viewer, the effect that his photographs have on the viewer is that they are good for websites

magazines and other forms of advertisement to make the reader want to find out what going on because of the amazing colours of the flowers.

The form of this photographers work is that it is a photograph, the function of the photograph is that it can be used for a variety of different things, like a poster, magazine, website and many more, the possibilities are unlimited as to how his photographs can be displayed and used.
